I noticed that I cant find them anywhere. Like through multiple stores. Normally, all the store have them. Big and small bags. But I havent been able to get any in like months What happened exactly?

My state straight up has basically every Utz flavor but Salt and Vinegar for some reason.

I bought some on Monday. I've only noticed that low-salt Lays have been missing for a couple weeks where I shop.

They've been happening on and off for a couple years now, mostly as the result of the shipping problems that were exacerbated by Covid. My local store literally has signs up apologizing for stuff being out of stock and pointing out that it's not their fault.

Sometimes something will be in stock for weeks/months at a time, only to vanish off shelves for a couple weeks. Sometimes stuff will be missing for months. Mainly depends on how popular it is, and what it's overall production chain looks like. Because of modern day production methods, if one link in the chain fails, the entire chain fails almost immediately.

A bunch of stuff has also changed a bit because of this. The relish I usually buy has gotten more watery, and the ketchup I usually buy has gotten thicker - I'm assuming it's because they had to alter their recipes or start using ingredients from different suppliers to replace former ingredients that became unavailable (especially since the relish disappeared entirely for a few months). The produce brands my local grocery store stocks seems to change on a weekly basis now (including brands I've never seen before), because global shipping has sort of become an unreliable mess.

As much as a lot of people are convinced that Covid is "over", it's still causing problems in multiple ways. And the problems it's already caused in industry and shipping aren't really fixed yet (if the shipping problems ever get fixed - because they not really caused by Covid as much as just made worse by it).

This makes a lot of sense. When it started, lots of stuff started going missing. And the Shopette on base has been really bare. Missing so much. Including some basic drinks

Funny story: I once purchased the Ruffles Sour Cream and Onion(around 2015) and they tasted like the Chedder ones. I like them both but was kind of upset because I wanted Sour Cream and Onion.

So I called up the phone number for them, I think it was on the bag, and complained. Not like a Karen or whatever, nicely and politely. Even laughed about it. But their reaction took me by surprise. They took it VERY seriously. Had me put the bag in the fridge and sent me a return package. Sent me like $25 voucher/coupon to get more chips.

I never understood their reaction til this day. Youd think I said I found a pube in them(like I did at Red Robins, a story for another time).

I had a buddy who used to call in complaints periodically just to get vouchers for free stuff. Got a few free cases of beer out of it, though at least a couple of those times were valid complaints. I definitely did it once when I bought a case of flat beer. I think they know that fuck-ups happen in their manufacturing process on a regular basis, and it's cheaper and easier just to send you a voucher than to try to fix the root causes of the problems and drastically slow down production.

Probably to confirm and then figure out what happened. Even mislabeling is taken very seriously.

That's a pretty obvious failure of their quality control, some operator probably put the wrong packaging in the machine. Meaning a hilo brought the wrong packaging, the operator didn't notice, the person checking quality didn't notice, and so on.
You're not the only one who had that specific problem, you're the only one who mentioned it.

And because of modern laws regarding labeling and say allergens, that is taken very seriously.

Where are you? I've seen them pretty frequently but that said there have been gaps in flavors in the Seattle area.

Well despite him being busy with all the absolute bull the Dems were throwing at him at around the time Covid started showing up, he put travel bans in place which were deemed racist and put in that covid restriction (which is or has expired) at the currently open southern border

Funny how the travel restrictions weren't perceived the same when Biden took over :P
