So what exactly didn't people like about this game?
Cause Abby's arms were too big?

some of the bigger issues with some gamers were:

• Abby killing Joel/how Joel was killed
• having to play as Abby after killing Joel
• Ellie sparing Abby at the end
• the game's pacing

I thought that the game was great, though, and while I initially agreed with the last point while I was playing it, when everything was said and done, I appreciated its length and how it was structured.

This annoyed me for awhile. To the point I tried to just sprint through every scenario with her hoping to get back to Ellie.

The game does a good job of making you like her eventually with saving the cult kids, but yeah I do think the switch to Abby as the playable character was a bit abrupt.

I'm doing the new story+ playthrough now and taking my time with the Abby parts. To see what I missed.

People really hate Abby.

To me my only real gripes were that I didn't enjoy the characters as much as the first game and it was just a marathon of depressing shit. You could say TLOU1 was the same in that last regard but since 2's "quiet and feel-good" moments were stuck into flashbacks instead of the current day, it gave the impression that these characters' best days were behind them and it's all going downhill for them.

Also the point where it switched to Abby felt weird and killed the pacing.

Everyone focused on Abbys unrealistic arms, meanwhile I'm thinking where does Owen get his hair gel from.
