i did subcutaneous though, idk what intramuscular is like. i dont want to risk scarring muscle tissue so im doing it this way

I'm one of the others hinted at and I don't forgive but it's not as though I hold a grudge, I understand tc was just in denial and did shitty things as a result, but transitioning is hard enough so what the hell ever, let's focus on more important things like where did I leave the remote control it was on my desk before I left and oh found it behind a box never mind.

Some people go get it done by a nurse but most do it themselves or have a partner or whatever do it for them. Myself, I can't stand the thought of injecting myself with a needle because of more than one propensity I have... So I'm always using pills and will unless I can get on the patch.

i expected it to be hard but it was actually easy. i just kinda did it and then it was done. what was rough was holding the needle in after, that felt rly gross lol

Nah, just annoying to get because of supply stuff as well as needing to keep it on for days at a time and then I'd get a rush of hormones the first day or two of a new patch so that would be like getting a period and I can live without mood swings tbh so I just kinda haven't made any active push to swap what's been working.

Me, I just have problems with estrone and never getting enough patches to supplement my pills. It's all too complicated and I just want the ease of injecting, at this point. It's sufficiently annoying to make me woman up and get over the needle.

There are a few different delivery methods. Pills are popular and easy and allow you to have a steady level of estrogen. However, the liver metabolizes estrogen that hits the digestive system into estrone, which can cause blood clots (it helps to hold the pill under your tongue until it has dissolved). This is an extremely rare complication, but something to be mindful of given how severe clots can be.

Patches circumvent that by leaching estrogen into skin and thus directly to the bloodstream. You can't really deliver a lot that way though, is my understanding. About 0.1 mg a day, IIRC (a pill can be up to 2 MG, twice daily, for comparison).

Injections allow you to deliver a large amount of estrogen directly into the bloodstream, neatly solving both shortcomings, at the cost of your estrogen level ebbing and flowing based upon your injection schedule.

Progesterone is generally delivered via pill and is safe that way. It helps to stabilize mood (though it does the opposite, for some people), promotes feminine fat distribution, and supports a healthy libido (a feminine libido). However, there seems to be a lot of dissension as to when and whether to administer it: I was given 100 MG prog after 3 months and currently take 200 MG (once daily), which I've been on the past 3 months (I'm 9 months in). I wouldn't mind getting more.

Spironolactone is the other major component: it blocks testosterone. It's also a diuretic (it is, in fact, used for that too). In short, it makes you pee a lot and causes you to crave salty and/or electrolyte-laden foods and liquids.
Pickles and pickle juice, for instance.
It's annoying, in other words.
