Trust system coming to A realm reborn in April and heavensward and storm blood later

Guess April is when I get back into the game I left off right after the final boss of Realm reborn but didn't do any of the post game quests before heavensward

Maybe an unpopular opinion but with this plus the Prae/Castrum changes I really hope MSQ Roulette gets banished to the shadow realm and its exp gets moved to the 50/60/70/80 roulette.

They confirmed that MSQ roulette is going to be abolished and Praetorium and Castrum put into LDR.

Specifics on Prae is that it's a 4 man dungeon now that ends with the first final boss fight, then the next phase is a seperate 4 man trial, then the last fight is a solo instance.

Castrum is theoretically the same but it's also a 4 man now.

I didn't want to commit before but now I can fully commit to customizing the appearance of my trust system party members

I'll have to say goodbye to my squadrons because I assume trusts work better than they do

Squadron runs are way faster than trust runs. Theyre actually a pretty good leveling method!

Squadrons have ultra-dumb AI, but to compensate theyre very strong (especially if you level their offensive tactics). Trust NPCs mostly do all the mechanics correctly but rubberband their damage so you cant complete trusts much faster than 30 minutes each.

I wonder if Squadrons will be removed once all the trusts are on place?

The system hasn't been updated in forever and the ranking system has also been completely frozen, with higher promotion s just staying unattainable. I could see them completely removing the system as far as actual dungeon runs go, but leaving the missions.

Yeah YoshiP had an after-LL interview where he said they will be retiring Squadrons once all the updates to Trusts are done, but that there might be some kind of compensation or something since people got attached to their squad mates.

I've seen it said that "retired" is the wrong word and that they'll be merged into Trusts instead, possibly using the same AI system afterward. Not speaking Japanese I have no idea how true or not that is though.

What are Squadrons and Trusts? I fell off around level 35 and never finished ARR, are those NPC parties?

Squadrons are parties of generic NPCs that run dungeons up to level 60, they have bad AI in terms of reacting to mechanics etc but compensate by being super strong.

Trusts are parties of named major story NPCs that run dungeons level 71-90, their AI in terms of mechanics is flawless and you can learn the correct behaviour for the bosses simply by following them but they take regular packs much slower than a party of players would because they A. never use AoE attacks and B. deliberately rubberband

Bad AI is an understatement those idiots literally do not react to mechanics whatsoever.

the best thing about that is that by far the toughest fight to direct your squadron members in is the final boss of halatali.... the very first squadron dungeon. throwing you in at the deep end!
