Hey all. I've never built or upgraded my PC before, so I honestly don't know where to start. But I'm feeling like I ought to upgrade my RAM. I'm waiting around until tomorrow to see if there's any good Cyber Monday sales for it.

But right now I'm sitting on 8GB of RAM, and I think I'll want at least 16 GB?

Are there other more important upgrades I might want? Or anything else that might be worth looking into? And from what I understand it's decently easy to install. I have an Asus, and they're supposed to make it easy for even an idiot like me.

Any help is appreciated!

8GB is not nearly enough, you want at least 16GB. But RAM is super cheap. There's already a lot of Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals going around. I was able to pick up 32 GB for $100.

https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232091?Description=ram&cm_re=ram-_-20-232-091-_-Product&quicklink=true

You can find 16GB deals for a bit cheaper but not too much cheaper ($50-70), so I just went for this. Just make sure to check if it's compatible with your motherboard if you have an older PC.

My PC is only around 2 years old right now, so I imagine it's still compatible. That looks like a pretty solid deal though. I may go in on that!
