It's probably been at least a year or two since I've seen the original, but it was a staple growing up so I was well preferred for any of the references. TheRock1525 posted... The initial sequence of the movie (before he died) they very carefully shot it so that you never got a good look at him and that seemed to be pretty deliberate. Personally I think I would have been fine if we got Ghost Egon just a tiny bit ~~less~~* than we did. The shot of him bracing Phoebe's arm was a fantastic hair raising moment. Also when the other ghostbusters turned to notice him. I'll watch the video and see what their thoughts were, but if their main point was just that it leaned into the nostalgia of the original too much then I'm probably just going to disagree on principle that this is necessarily a bad thing. The movie was not a half-assed cash grab. It introduced new characters that I cared about (Maybe not Trevor and Lucky as much but everyone else, definitely. Particularly Phoebe and Podcast.) The humor was very dry like the original and it all just sort of worked for me.
