There have been a few of these, but now there's a new one.

Cool things:
- the weekly PR stunts now have car restrictions associated with them, which means I don't have to wheel out the S1 Aventador I used for all that stuff last time.
- pretty much everything

Weird things:
- I'm not really sure how progression works with the outposts. Do I just have every dirt race except the big last one now that I've opened the Wilds outpost?

Bad:
- challenge cards aren't saving the objects I place when I publish them, meaning the actual challenge is kinda lost in some cases.

Has anyone got the loyalty reward for Forza 5 (McLaren P1)? I've gotten the other rewards for FM6-7 and FH1-4, but that one didn't register for some reason.

The race routes seem on average longer than in past games. Maybe that's a product of the map size; I know the DLC from 4 and 5 had a lot of 2 lap circuits because there just weren't as many intersections.

The difficulty for certain races and classes seems a bit odd.

Cross country and S2 class races randomly have huge difficulty bumps. Kinda weird.

Loving the game overall though.

I think so. Just seems like you get the choice to unlock a new mission for whatever outpost when you do enough stuff and when you do it that's it. A bit strange.

Yeah I think the only thing not absolutely amazing about this game is the soundtrack. Everything else is just so fucking great. I've just been cheesing Skill Points and buying Willys Jeeps for the Super Wheel Spin mastery skill. Favorite car so far is the Forza Edition BMW X5.

I imported and shared all my paint sprays from FH4 and people are downloading them like crazy right now. They aren't anything special just custom paint color blends of different types. I much prefer a classic clean look on the cars with a good paint job rather than all the shit people put on with vinyls.

Played the game an hour last night, Horizon 5 has a cartoony look that is a bit hard to describe in detail but I do like the revamped drift physics.

My PC can play this shit at the Extreme setting or whatever and it looks gorgeous.

Something they don't really highlight is that all the events you make have 9-digit share codes like Mario Maker. (You can search using them on the creative hub page)

I futzed around with custom event rules for the first time, and made a circuit race with ramps where you're scored on the basis of how far you jump. The share code is 144 561 246 if anyone's curious to try it out

The filter option is very useful (I think it's RB on controller). Especially for finding those expeditions hidden in a sea of icons.

Also only 2 others on my friends list appear to be playing so far, so leaderboards for Speed Traps and things are kinda boring. If anyone wants to add me, my GT is Krataur.

They give you basically every event in a category all at once with the expeditions, which is a lot quicker than the progression from the last few games.

Yeah things open up almost immediately. I've been just going at them all one by one. Really not too big a fan of off roading races but I love off roading to get to events lol

Still not good enough to play at anything past above average, but I'm getting there lol

It is the 2 million dollar one of the far left of the map. Pretty easy to spot when looking at the map so if you aren't seeing it you probably haven't unlocked it yet. I would guess it unlocks with the cross country stuff because it is in that general area.

I know in Forza Motorsport games you'd have a race that's like an A class with a limit of 800, so you'd want to upgrade your car to be as close to the limit as possible to stay competitive.

For this it seems you just can pick any car and go with it, unless I'm missing something here.

Cars in stock form are very shitty. The ai cars would be so much better depending on the difficulty you play. Although the ai scales with your upgrading, the key is to find the perfectly optimized tune. Most these tunes are at the 998/900/800/700 etc mark because they are created for online play / trying to max a class. That isn't necessarily ideal for offline play, but with an optimized tune you are so much better than the ai anyways that even playing the hardest difficulty isn't that bad.

If you wanted to get super technical about the best upgrades to a car to perform at the highest level against ai, you would want to consider the upgrades that give the largest return before hitting a diminishing return in terms of performance vs ai scalability. That would be a variable amount because the ai cars perform differently in all situations.

Online play will force you to try and squeeze more performance out, but also some of the seasonal PR stunts have certain restrictions where you'd want something better than stock.

But in general the game is content to let you drive what you want.

I dont usually buy racing games, but have always wanted to try Forza Horizon, so this is my first go at the series. So far it seems really great, havent played much but Im really liking this. The ability to rewind if i fuck up is really nice as a causal

Nice I got it. It's made available after the first Guadalajara Street Racing mission. Time to finish collecting the Fast Travel boards.

Game is good. I don't think any of the Horizon games haven't been good, honestly. And this time they've done well with the offroad stuff too.

Congrats. Now you can finish the side stories (the final chapters are all locked until you reach the Hall of Fame). I would suggest getting 3 stars for all of the V10 missions, as that gives you a free Jesko.

Is there any reason to actually try to tune your car in Horizon? Ive honestly just ignored that feature so far since I have no idea what Im doing with it but I dont know how big of an impact it has. If its big enough then maybe I should learn how to do it

You get better performance from your vehicle when you tune it, better grip for the tires,more speed or acceleration,etc.

There's also tunes that other people have done and shared that you can download and use. Just find one that gives you that perfect balance

Oh really? Yea Ill mess with it. I always felt that I could be a lot better with some tweaks to my car but I never know how to do it. It just looks overwhelming when I look at it so I never bothered

It took me a bit to learn how to tune my vehicles, a buddy of mine told me how to do it in 4. Just go little by little on each option til you get a feel how the vehicle drives,corners,etc then tune some more if needed.

Can I get some more tips on tuning vehicles? I dont shit about cars and I never fucked with it in 4 lol the description doesnt help much either, I just download others and hope they're good.
