What is everyones favorite game? Favorite generation? Favorite Pokemon?

I like Gen 4 and all of the games in it. My favorite Pokemon are Totodile and Alakazam.

Are you going to be getting Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl or Legends Arceus?

XYORAS is my favorite, but I always felt like the series was getting better as time went on. I just don't have time to play anymore, so I missed out on Sun/Moon and Sword/Shield, despite buying them (I did at least play through Sword, but barely touched Sun).

XYORAS is the game where I got a living Dex though.

I've already pre-ordered BDSP and LoA. Favorite Pokemon are probably Absol, Gengar, and the new Zoroark. Always wanted a Normal Ghost type!

GS is my favorite. Took RBY and perfected them. I also really like XYORAS. It's the generation I've probably put the most time into, but that's mostly because of all the shiny hunting I've done in those games.

I'm looking forward to BDSP, but Endwalker comes out the same day, and that's gonna have to take priority. I'll probably get Pearl for Christmas.

Edit: Oh and my favorite Pokemon are Meowth and Goodra

If I were to rank the gens they would be:

4 > 6 > 8 > 2 > 3 > 7 > 1 > 5

B2W2 are some of the best Pokemon games, but B1W1 are by far the worst and throws the entire vibe of the generation off.

I'm playing through Pokemon Let's Go for the first time.

-Don't really like pikachu. But I like Raichu. Pikachu got bodied in the Lt. Surge match. stay salty pikachu fans. :P
-I like some of the original creature designs, Alakazam, Marowak, etc. The newer designs are kind of off the rails now.
-The Elite Four will always be my favorite opponents.
-Gary is a fraud

I think Sword/Shield are my favorite games to actually play. The quality of life changes are huge, and make it hard going back to old games without modding them.

Farfetch'd is my favorite mon.

The gen 5 roster is probably my favorite overall.

I'll definitely be getting BD/SP, and will be doing a "blind" nuzlocke for my first playthrough like always. "Blind" because I played them once as a kid but remember almost nothing.

i didnt know you had to catch the Pokemon in the Pokemon GO Park in Let's Go Pikachu.

Pearl/Diamond were the last where I completed the Pokedex...I will probably get the remake at some point a while after release, just because I don't have time with school, nor the money.

My favourite gen is 2 though. That's the last gen where the new Pokemon had a LOT of charm for me, even though I didn't get jaded until Gen 5. idk why, must've just burned out. because looking back Gen 5 is really cool.

I'd definitely go with gen 5 as my favourite gen. I loved the music and atmosphere especially Undella Town, Village Bridge and Join Avenue. The animated battle sprites were amazing. I loved that BW2 followed up and you got little cutscenes if you linked your BW save to BW2.

It just did everything right in a generation except that it removed the Battle Frontier. The PWT in BW2 was cool and getting to listen to redone themes was amazing but I always liked going through other battle formats as well. Mostly rental battles because I was too lazy to raise my own team but I always liked having to try and assemble a workable team with what I'm given. I'm actually kind of excited for it in the new remakes.

So all the controversy over BDSP being 1:1 remakes more or less. Why are people surprised and upset? When BDSP were announced, they were pretty clear on them being faithful remakes. Megas and dynamax and whatever else were never going to be in the game, and this was obvious from the first trailer. Why is anyone surprised?

Yeah pretty much every single Gen 1-3 cart at this point the battery has died. If you start up a Gen 3 cart it tells you the battery is drained. You can still save I believe, but the clock does not work at all. The time you set at the beginning of the game, is the time the game will always play at.

In my experience they don't. If you want a SNES game's save battery to hold a charge you have to play the cart every day or the battery dies again.

I checked my Blue Version I bought at a Walmart in 1999 like 6? months ago and it worked fine.
I also played some Mega Man Battle Network 1 recently. I can check if some of my carts work. I don't have knock off shit like most people online seem to.

I have not played much of anything past yellow, but right now I am playing Emerald. My friend told me to get Sapphire, but I mis remembered what he said, so I got Emerald instead.

Does it really matter or is Sapphire better?

Fire Red: Had a playthrough where I was in the Rocket Hideout. Saving the first time failed, and the second start of the game provided a "1-M circuit board not installed" error. Starting up again and everything saved just fine.
Ruby: Dead internal battery (this was probably obvious), but saved no problem.
Silver #1: Saves don't work anymore. RIP
Silver #2: Saves don't work anymore. RIP
Yellow #1: Save from ancient times (probably 2002 or 2003) in Viridian Forest. Saved just fine.
Yellow #2: Saves don't work anymore. RIP
Red: Save was wiped, but I was able to create a new game and power cycle with the save persisting. Tried multiple times for good measure.
Blue: A time capsule from 20 years ago.

I think Emerald is the preferred Gen 3 game for most people? At the very least it's my go-to.

And yeah last time I tried any of my Gen 1 or 2 games a couple years ago, none of them had a save file or could save. Last time I checked my Ruby and Emerald about a year and a half ago I got the drained battery message. Last time I tried my LeafGreen it worked perfectly, but that was a few years ago. It could still work but I'd have to dig it out.
