missions are kinda just errands that have no bearing on the actual world. It would have been the prime setting to have you do stuff and then have the world change around you.

Oh well.

If it wasn't for some of the tunnel missions I would replay it again before buy DL2. I hated those parts so bad.

I've done beat it about 4 times now though so I'm just going to keep playing around. I accidentally sold most of my weapon mods.

I had like 300+ king mods too...ugh

This sounds hilarious actually! I do like the writing in some of these missions, at least it's better than Dead Island.

Doing that mission to get the working lightbulbs from the bridge, keep falling down the access ladderwell, finally get to the top, open this locked door... get ganked by some exploding zombie fml.

Oh you'll see.

mainly the ones where you have to go into the sewers for any reason. You have the volatiles literally on your heels while having to jump onto single boards to escape.

Just playing on Normal difficulty, feels about right for my speed >_> And playing solo. Picked up a copy for my friend during the Halloween sale but we're never on the same schedule any more for games so idk if we'll have a chance to play together.

Sewer shit sounds terrifying lmao, I gave up on Prey when that Nightmare starts chasing you... honestly gave up on Dying Light when the volatiles start appearing in the day time.

If you end up finishing it or getting bored, I recommend trying on Nightmare solo. Changes the beginning of the game to a survival horror. I didn't really get super into it until I played it liie that.

The details they chose to put in this game are so weird, I'm in this school and there are some fun things like cigarettes in the bathroom. And then I open a closet and there's a guitar and underneath it a "guitar lessons" book. But the rest of it feels kind of empty and weird.

Also why are there burning cars everywhere -_-

Yeah. With your current play style in Normal at least. Nightmare is a lot more avoiding and only fighting when completely necessary. Until the pace changes later on for reasons I won't spoil. It eventually becomes an action game again regardless.

Gotta take a break, game says I am at 38% but it feels like the game is going to end a lot sooner than that.

I destroyed the nest, killed that kid who ran off on his own like a dumbass, went to rescue the scientist after Rais kidnapped him and then escaped the arena and that's where I am.

Got the grappling hook, game feels like a breeze now. Started to focus on the main mission instead of the side quests but I might return to those.

Also the achievements are funny since they seem to keep count of what you've done regardless of playthrough. I.e., I got the achievement for unlocking all the safehouses on this game when I only had about half of them, because I started a game before and got a little into it. I imagine the same will happen with the side missions.

If I remember right your % goes up only with main quests, side quests don't count.

Look up where to find the Korek Machete blueprint, it's a great weapon early on.

Also search for the Excalibur, weak weapon but it yeets zombies.

You are correct, because I spent all day a few days ago doing side stuff and the percentage never went up. But it is crazy to think I'm not even halfway through it with what's going on.

Thanks for the tips on the blueprints. I wish I understand why there needs to be five different "electrify your weapon with a minor charge!" items though?

I didn't think I'd like Dying Light, but I had a lot of fun with it. There were some parts of the story that I thought were kind of dumb, but overall it was really good. I'd also recommend getting the dlc, the following if you only got the standard edition.

Yes, then the secret block for a blueprint to get the gliding item, but you need to make multiple for the best effect.

That's how I played Dead Island, it was the most effective way to kill enemies and I think towards the end that rang true here, though I did get swarmed a few times.

Finally completed the game, 30/78 achievements. Feels pretty good. I didn't like that (ending spoilers)

the final battle is just a quick time event lol.

It's a pretty fun co-op game. 2 looks like it's going to be cool.

The Following is cool in that you get cars and a Driver skill, lame that it means that there's a lot less parkouring and it takes forever to get around the map.

Sometimes they'll show up anyway if you get close to a spawn point. Always be weary of manholes and little shacks that they burst out of.

They'll also come running and screaming if a zombie gets caught on fire and their heads blow up.
