I just checked the SWL page and the last update was a generic announcement about the anniversary event in springtime. One of my favorite parts about SW was the Samhain events and festivities and they didn't even advertise it on their website officially. Funcom is a Norwegian game developer, they've been around since the 90s. Some of their bigger games are the Longest Journey, Anarchy Online (sci-fi MMORPG), Age of Conan (Conan the Barbarian MMORPG), Conan: Exiles (Conan the Barbarian open world survival game). The Secret World is an MMORPG that came out in 2012, I fell in love with it because of the unique setting and the atmopshere (modern day world where you travel to a few different locations and explore supernatural occurrences for the Illuminati, Knights Templar or Dragon) and the mission design (there's everything from stealth to codebreaking to using real world resources to solve riddles, plus good old fashioned zombie killing). They re-launched it in like 2016 or 2017 as a free-to-play game which came with some serious changes, most of which were not good. It launched ... incomplete compared to the original version. Eventually they did add back in most of the missing content, and that was 100% free, no need to pay for any expansions. They also revamped the abilities and weapon mechanics... But worst of all they just made it feel kind of like a cheap money grab. Instead of getting interesting loot and gear from things, you just get experience canisters. So for the story it is a beautiful game, but as an MMO it has almost no longevity because you're only ever working for experience canisters to upgrade your gear infinitely.
