a few months back i made a new friend at a concert. i know he's a little older than me, but i never bothered to ask because it wasn't ever important. since then we've hung out a few times at other shows and we played disc golf a couple of times. at each show we've been at together, he was with his long time girlfriend, so i've met her a couple of times.

yesterday i got a text from my Mom with a picture of my friend's girl with a message of "this is my art friend <name redacted>. we just discovered that you know each other and you're buddies with her boyfriend". and yes, she is the girlfriend of the aforementioned new friend of mine. and she's been good friends with my Mom for years, apparently they know each other for through art classes or something

never in a million years would i have guessed that my Mom and i would eventually have mutual friends. weird.
