Kinda torn on it. Shooting felt basic, like you were firing lasers at enemies. There was a really nice arsenal but I was afraid to branch out because of the stupid enemy level system, was just easier to stick with what I knew would work. Writing wasn't terrible but the story was all over the place, really lacked some focus and cohesion.

Honestly kinda felt like a first person Just Cause game with less destruction >_>

Yes I did lol, I had boats and helicopters spawn right in front of me at several times, and it became difficult to clear out "non-official" areas in some missions. By "non-official" I mean outposts, checkpoints, etc. that have a fixed limit of enemies.

There were one or two missions where enemies spawned *right in front of me* like the cops in Cyberpunk. Felt fake as shit.

Male.

How was Gus?
lol, I didn't really do any reading in to Far Cry 6 beforehand so seeing him in the game was really mindblowing, just like playing Ian Gallagher as a Jedi in a Star Wars game.

Really loved the acting and story of the antagonist.

There were other glitches, too. The worst were the escort missions, the AI would sometimes go in circle or backtrack, they moved slower than molasses and there was one time where the scripting broke and we had arrived at the objective but the mission didn't continue so I had to endure it all over again.

Sometimes an enemy would run behind a door and I'd kill that enemy... and then the door would be blocked from the other side lmao.

this is what is preventing me from playing the game, I hate stuff like that

most of the topics on the far cry reddit are complaining about the infinite respawning or how enemies can tank headshots

I put AP Ammo on all my guns and I did not see anyone tanking headshots, just taking headshots ... and dying >_>

The first several hours I was playing a lot of these things were pretty annoying but you get used to it. It's not a *fun* glitch like what they had in Cyberpunk or Dead Island, but they are tolerable.

And a lot of "infinite enemy waves" aren't really infinite outside of a couple missions, otherwise it's just normal reinforcements coming in.

I feel ya about the weapons. I just beat the game yesterday. Did you ever feel underwhelmed by the towns? I thought they would be more interesting. And not super lame. Also how do you like the different ammo stuff. I'm not huge fan of it. Gives it a bit of a borderlands vibe. Which I dont want.

All I wanted was some badass bases to stealth through. And they couldn't even do that. But I take what I can.

Yeah lol the towns were terrible. Everything felt copied and pasted, there was no character to them. Even the big city was obnoxious, it felt empty, just a lot of checkpoints and crap inhibiting movement through the city.

The different ammo mechanic was exciting at first since the game repeats a dozen times that you "need the right equipment for the job", and they put workbenches near every outpost so you can modify and change your loadout. But then you realize that AP Ammo is fine for everything and it became a really stupid mechanic.

And stealth was so bad lmao I just terminator'd my way through places with a silenced weapon.

Only thing I hate is there was no way to put a scope on a pistol. Or maybe I forgot to check idk.

I definitely check in a bit for scopes on pistols. When I wasn't taking a base. Pretty much just used an LMG with AP rounds. Stealth I used the bow with the dark tech boots. AI is super easy to avoid visually.

The guerilla posts you can unlock with the base upgrade is pretty cheap. Pretty much just wing suite spawned my way everywhere.
What do you think do the end game insurgency stuff, and special operations?

I think it's pretty okay. Better than what they've done before.

I like the idea of the end game content but I also don't tend to play singleplayer games beyond the side content (until I get tired of it) and the main story, so it's kinda wasted on me. I did try out the insurgency challenge just to get a taste of what it felt like I guess, was pretty straightforward.

I think a lot of that content would have been more impactful if the co-op mode wasn't such a terrible mess.

Also the more I'm thinking about it, the more disappointed I am with things. (ENDING SPOILERS) There are encounters throughout the game that make it feel like they're setting you up for a weird ass ending like in Far Cry 5. Like, the doctor injects you with shit, you're getting poisoned constantly, stuff like that. I was really expecting more of a mind fuck at the end because of these encounters, but they don't seem to factor in to anything at all.

Yeah I never played New Dawn but it seems like a similar system. It just makes everything besides AP ammo and headshots useless, doesn't really make the game any more difficult.

My total play time was 39 hours. It actually didn't feel like it was that long of a game, and I wasn't playing consistently, mostly binging on some nights and weekends. It is actually really short if you skip all the side crap.

Definitely wait for a sale. It doesn't have any game breaking bugs, or at least none that you can't sidestep by just dying and replaying from the checkpoint, but it's also not entirely polished. And it just feels average.

It really reminds me a lot of Breakpoint for some reason, maybe it's the setting but the world just feels kind of empty. There *are* NPCs walking around and stuff but they are about as noticeable as the buildings and trees in the world. Oh, it's also the shitty AI - I cleared a few outposts by just camping at the top of stairs and letting enemies come investigate their dead comrades. That was 100% out of the Breakpoint textbook.
