Core i7-9750H and RTX 2080 Max Q (basically around an RTX 2070 desktop performance)

Bodes well for basically anyone with relatively modern hardware!

This weapon is weird - it's almost like the goo cannon from Unreal Tournament

DF says Series S caps at 1080p 60fps, and the dynamic 120fps mode is gone.

Xbox Series S? Again, it is mostly unchanged from the first time we saw multiplayer code and runs smoothly at what is essentially a locked 60 frames per second. There are no 1440p pretensions here - you're getting a consistent 1080p experience and while dynamic resolution scaling is still used, it's hard to find areas where consistent drops are noticeable. However, the 120Hz mode found in the first test flight is gone. When we first took a look at it, it actually ran more smoothly than the Series X equivalent mode but resolution could hit lows of 540p. Perhaps 343 Industries is having a rethink.

Its weird as fuck. If you hold the trigger itll fire some big AOE fireball but it doesnt seem to do anything. Ive walked through the fire after an enemy launched it and didnt get damaged at all from it.

Overall I love the game though

It somehow simultaneously feels the least like Halo, and the most like Halo, of any 343-developed Halo title. I don't know how to explain it.

Also it looks like 120fps mode was removed from Series S, based on the website's disclaimer

Ive been getting 60-70FPS with a Ryzen 7 3700x, RX 5700XT, and 16GB RAM on ultra settings at 1080p. Hoping its more optimized by launch so I can get over 100fps. Its a really pretty game though.

For me, Halo 3 and Halo 5 were my favorite multiplayers. Infinite feels like a perfect blend of the two

I think I met the minimum requirements that they posted at the very least. Multiplayer looks pretty good, but there are a couple things I've seen here and there that I'm a bit concerned about. They're ultimately minor though. I expect it to be at least on par with Halo 5's multiplayer.

Still would have liked to see anything about the campaign by now since that's the part we actually have to pay for.

Please tell me they ditched the load out based approach for weapons/abilities? That fucking killed Halo.

yes. Its like Halo 3 now - everyone starts with the same weapons and grenades, power weapons and equipment are on the map.

Only abilities are sprint, clamber, and slide. Sprint increases movement speed by so little that you can go entire games without using it at all, unless you want to slide.

no more thruster (though leaks say its one of the equipment items you can pick up) or ground pound or shoulder charging

Actually, the way items spawn on timers in the center of small kind of vertical areas reminds me a lot of Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 arena.

Yeah, same with me, and that's a good description of how Infinite seems to play. Very promising, already preordered a Steelbook version...

Repulsor looks awesome but also a bit busted from the clips I've seen of it. I just saw before a clip of someone dead stopping a Warthog three times in succession. Pushes the hog back far too. Between that and the grappling hook, vehicles look like they have a rough time in Infinite. But I can only judge on clips I've seen so maybe it's not quite as bad in practice.

The Repulsor definitely needs to be nerfed against vehicles but I think it works great against infantry and as a jump booster when blasting it beneath you. Its a great counter to gravity hammers and energy swords.

Grappleshot can latch onto vehicles pretty easily, not sure what they could do to balance it. Maybe if you dont make it to the vehicle quickly enough it detaches? Only times it seemed op to me was grabbing onto a vehicle that was moving away from me at full speed at the maximum range I could grapple with and I flew behind it for a few seconds before catching up.

I did learn that if you grapple the front of a vehicle moving toward you itll almost always splatter you lol
