If I remember correctly, it's actually the southernmost point you can get in the original pre-burning crusade game.

The problem is that the only way I could figure out how to get to it was to have someone continually heal me as I took exponentially worse drowning damage. It was really crazy but we got there.

Hyjal runs back then were so much fun. Loved slow falling into darkshore.

Before the release of Burning Crusade Classic, a friend paid me $200 to level his Belf Paladin to 60. I did it dutifully, but when I hit 60, I left him stranded in all-grey gear on that island.

Took waterwalking buff from a Shaman and a swim speed potion to get there.

I once parked my friends main on a little island north of the plaguelands that you had to swim along the coast for like an hour to get to, and deleted his hearthstone

Yeah I deleted his hearthstone too. He had to ask me how to get a new one because he, understandably, had never had to do that before.

I also left him with a few pirate-themed grey items (because he hates pirates and One Piece by extension), and a copy of a letter from me that just read "You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?"

Walking into Tanaris for the first time as seeing the creep covering everything was really creepy (pardon the pun) as there wasn't a whole lot of lore about the Nerubians yet.

FUCK, I miss the old school WoW experience.

sucks that itd basically be impossible to capture that magic again, all these years later.

Ive been tempted to start a character on one of the fresh vanilla private servers that pop up every few months

I was always an Alliance player back then so if I did it Id go Horde for a mostly new experience to try and catch some of that old magic again

Edit: also since were talking about Tanaris I was reminded of Ungoro Crater next to it and being wrecked by a fucking T-Rex the first time I stumbled in there lol

Those T Rexes sure can be quiet, like the fel reaver in BC
