As someone who has worked in Public Service for 14 years, I despise when you say " Have a good day" or something to that extent, and all you get in return is "yup" or something similar.

Where is my "You too" damn it.

It drives me crazy when people at work, as they're walking by, say 'How's it going?' and I say 'Good, you?' and they keep going without answering because that's just their default greeting and their mind has already moved on. Dude, neither one of us actually care how the other is doing, it's just a greeting, but you started the greeting, at least finish it.

When people say "mind you" in regular conversation.

I cannot fucking stand when people go out of their way to tell you that you've struck one of their pet peeves.

I simply do not care about this small meaningless thing I did that bothers you and ONLY you. The self importance you've displayed in telling me about it only makes me want to do it again.

I used to say that someone having pet peeves was the worst but I realized people can have them and realize they can keep that nonsense to themselves.

I cannot stand when other people get all self-important and righteously indignant about a thread people are participating in by attacking its very premise while acting like they're better than everyone else. The arrogance they've displayed in telling me about it makes me want to post in the thread, too. I'm never quite sure if they're trolling or if they just have a really hot take and a terrible attitude, but it makes me wonder why they can't just keep that nonsense to themselves.

For a driving pet peeve, the person behind me on the on-ramp who decides he needs to get on ahead of me and prevents me from getting on.

I have a few, but I'll pick the most ridiculous one

in the vein of the opening post, I've always been (entirely irrationally) annoyed when someone behind the counter tells me "enjoy" as their parting statement. It's especially silly because they're trying to be nice and normal

Makes me feel like I'm a fat kid that just bought five ice cream bars. I'll enjoy or not enjoy it as i choose! I won't do what you saaaayyyy

Well I'm complaining about the ones who think it is acceptable to drive at 30 on a 2-way with only one lane and thinking the traffic congested behind them is acceptable. These are on roads where there aren't any assigned min or max speed limits.

Fast drivers are inoffensive for me because they pass and then they are out of your sight. Slow drivers with their holier than thou attitude and selfish belief that driving slower than a turtle is how driving is supposed to be is one of the biggest reason why daily driving is really wearing me down.

And by 30 I mean Km/hr not miles.

My irrational pet peeve is when people sing outside of, like, some sort of production. Walking around the house with a song in your heart and you just let it rip? The fuck outta here..

It's totally dumb, and especially weird since I've sang pretty much all my life in choirs and things, but for whatever reason it gets under my skin when regular people do it on a whim. ^_^;;
