Self checkout.

Why? Because I am in full control of how I bag my groceries.

There have been so many times when a cashier would mindlessly and hastily stuff cleaning supplies in the same bag as some veggies. Like they would put fragile items at the very bottom (like a bag of tomatoes) and heavy items on top.

It depends. I used to always use self-checkouts, because I was afraid of interacting with people. Now days either is fine.

Self checkout is almost always faster because there's a huge line behind the 1 or 2 normal lanes that are open. Even if there isn't I go self checkout because I hate relying on people.

I usually have too many items to do self checkout.

Plus, the ones here don't put the bags at the checkout stations, you have to ask the staff for bags. But they like to walk away often, so it's kind of annoying.

Even if I have a full cart, self checkout. I worked for a grocery store that had it and a lot of people are too dumb to listen to basic instructions like "Please place the bag back in the bagging area" and they throw their arms up and looked at me like the machine was speaking Mongolian so I just did it for them and got real fast at it.
