I feel like both are in the wrong tbh. If the woman really wasn't shoplifting she wouldn't have anything to hide and wouldn't resist. On the other hand, a security guard's job is to call police and not to confront beyond a simple "Are you gonna pay for that". This incident didn't have to blow up as much as it did had the security guard just done that.
Also the dude at the end of the second vid who was all "That's a girl!" is a sleazy POS tbh

Oh, Annette was DEFINITELY shoplifting. She wasn't being profiled by that security guard. She is a notorious shoplifter.

She's a damn thief. He was doing his job subduing the suspect until police arrived to takeover the situation. I hope that dumb mother fucker calling him a punk gets what's coming to him. The fact that she is a woman does not change the fact that she is a combative suspect. Good on the security guard for holding his ground and doing his job, he should get a raise.

Well unfortunately that's not what happened. This is what the store had to say:

"At FreshCo, the safety and well-being of our customers and teammates is our top priority. We have decided to end our relationship with our third party security vendor as the behaviour shown on April 14th outside our store is not tolerated or a representation of our values. We continue to cooperate with officials as this incident is currently under investigation. We are also working closely with our teammates and supporting them as they work through this investigation."

When I did moved to Alaska, we traveled by car. I remember seeing First Nations reservations and they shocked me on how poor they look. Way different from US reservations. The lady probably was desperate. I bet what she stole was like less than 50 bucks. That guard didn't need to be so rough

I saw native reservations near the grand canyon and I thought I was in Ethiopia

If she got outside with some stolen goods, then the business already lost. I don't think it's worth tackling someone to the ground over stolen goods from a large business. I know people disagree though.

In america, as a security guard, if someone shoplifts and they leave the store you cannot lay hands on them.

i use to work at target and this nerdy security guard use to always tell me that. hed do everything he could to keep a person from walking out the door. id always sit back and laugh. was usually over some yugi oh or pokemon cards
