Literally the only reason I think this is because 12 is the first number on a clock. >_>

Anyways its been like 30 years since Sonic CD. I think its time we get another time travelling action platformer.

Each stage would have a Past and Future mode. You would switch between modes using time gates that are scattered across levels. Some are obvious, some are hidden.

The overall gimmick of the game would be, you see an obstacle in one time period, and if you switch to the other time period, another route becomes available. (So in a nature stage, if theres an unjumpable gap across a river, you travel to the future. Now theres a giant tree you can climb, and you can proceed to a tree-top section of the stage where you jump across high platforms while avoiding airborn enemies)

So with this, the stages maintain the ability to be played on their own without any outside items. But, what happens if you come back later? If you have the Rush Jet, you can cross the river that way, which opens another route.

So this also incorporates some of the later games more advanced platforming elements that require certain items or boss weapons. But instead of requiring you to beat certain stages before unlocking others, (like in 8), it merely gives players more options for how to go through a level.

To further shake things up, bosses will have Past and Future versions as well. Their strength, attack patterns, and even weakness will change depending on which version you fight.

So maybe theres a Dinosaur Man, and if you fight him in the past, he resembles a T-Rex and is weak to an ice weapon. But if you fight him in the future he resembles a fossilized skeleton and is weak to a rock/earth weapon.

If you beat a boss once, you get the story MacGaguffin. Beat any 8 bosses and you get access to the Wily Fortress. But if you go out of your way to fight defeat both Past and Future versions of the same boss, you get a special adapter that powers up that bosss weapon.

Idk why I wasted my time on this long ass post. >_> tl;dr: time travel mega man 12 pls

hopefully it brings back Bass and Proto Man. Endless Attack is also needed and a Mega Maker mode for ultimate replayability.
