I've never been good a costumes, I waited last minute(I have 2 days at my house, then 2 more in a cabin where I likely couldnt get anything shipped) before this party.

The theme is sci-fi. Something easy with parts I can find at like wal-mart. I do own a niceish looking toy lightsaber, and I am a star wars fan, but I don't know.

Throw out some ideas. Last time I did a costume the theme was under the sea, and I just went as Spongebob in the episode where he splits his pants and keeps on saying it until everybody gets mad. People loved my split pants idea. Low effort but funny. But I can't think of anything low effort for sci-fi that wouldn't just scream "weak" like a bath robe and lightsaber going as "Luke" or something.

Paint some some sunglasses with silver and go as that guy from Star Trek. The reading rainbow guy.

I've got a little red riding hood cape thing I could use to become a very cheap version of one of the Emporer's guards from Star Wars: RotJ...

I've been told you need a costume however as long as you try, it'll be okay. So....little red riding hood with a foot tall plastic yoda doll in a basket? sure?

MIB would be easy I just don't know if I have the correct colors of dress clothes.

Leather jacket, black jeans, purple t-shirt?

My mom bought be a stormtrooper mask, and a good "low effort" idea is the stormtrooper going to class from the empire recruitment video from family guy

I don't have one of those letterman jackets, but I own a blue sweater, I'm going to find some way to put that E on there. Brown pants, some books(my encylopedia of paper money is textbook size and hell I might want to read it anyways while i'm away)....

the matrix could be a good option too

Box with tinfoil, Murder Party style! (Although I think he was actually supposed to be a knight.)

Otherwise just make a cheap pair of antennae, attach them to a band on your head, and call yourself space argonaut (or space whatever-your-real-name-is)

Mace Griffin would be pretty easy to pull off with Walmart parts. Even easier if you have access to any football chest/shoulder pads.

Arthur Dent from HHGG. Easy costume AND comfortable too! Pajamas, Bathrobe, slippers, and a satchel with a towel and a book with DON'T PANIC written in large, friendly letters on the cover.
