I was absolutely mesmerized by the promos for NiGHTs into Dreams as a kid, but never had a Sega Saturn and didnt have any friends with one.

I spent a lot of time playing the Shockwave mini-game on the Sega website lol. I bought and enjoyed the Wii sequel, but it wasnt until the PS3 release that I could finally try the original.

I know it sounds stupid, but it actually lived up to everything 6-year-old Alis imagined it being. The music, the dreamscapes, the flight mechanics. Its just such a fun, surreal experience. One of my favorites to this day. >_>

Some of the more popular titles of the NES days I simply never got around to like Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden, and every RPG. I played very little Zelda and Metroid when visiting friends. For whatever reason I just didn't rent them either. Moving into the next gen I watched friends play these and their sequels more than play them myself.

As for outright unable to play I remember going to buy an NES game one time when I was 8 or 9 y/o. I picked out something with a military genre. Silk Worm maybe, or possibly Jackal? I can't remember. My mom looked at the cover and thought it looked too violent. Thinking back this seemed bizarre as I already owned Super C. Anyway she had me leave the store for a moment and later at home I found she bought me A Boy and His Blob... yay... I never understood how the game worked.

If it makes you feel any better you were far from the only one.
NIGHTS must've been heavily advertised by Sega, because any time I think of the Saturn, that's the first, and basically only, game I think of.
The only other Saturn game I can think of off the top of my head is X-Men vs. Street Fighter. I think it was only released in the Japanese region for the Saturn. There was a PlayStation port of the game as well, but it didn't even have the tag team mechanic so it was pretty terrible.
So, there's a game I never got to play as a kid. I did play it in the arcade, though, so I dunno if that counts. It would have been amazing to have the opportunity to play it on a home console, though.

Too many.... Too many.... Half tempted to start streaming/Youtube just to get through a lot of them, but I'd have to emulate... and then there would be people pissed off about that... and I'm lazy... lol

I remember looking for Mega Man X3 whenever we went to a store that had video games. Never was able to get a hold of a physical copy.

Started it a couple times in the legacy collection. Makes me wonder just how the hell we found so many of the secrets as kids.

All N64, Sega Saturn, Sega CD, etc. I had the PSX, NES, and Genesis,

There was also Vagrant Story, and Lunar: A Silver Star Story for the PSX.

And I heavily regret never picking up one of the many Dragon Warrior 7 discs I came across when I was younger. I guess it's nice that the 3DS version is improved in many ways, but I could have experienced the original 20 years ago.
