TFA is great until they leave Jakku and then becomes a soulless paint-by-numbers adventure where no thought is given to emotional stakes and nothing matters.

TLJ puts on a veneer of sophistication but ultimately betrays and contradicts itself by falling back to the core principles of Star Wars and thus ends up a (well-shot) muddled mess that doesn't really say anything.

Both have things they do well, but are mediocre to bad overall (and still better than the prequels don't get me wrong)

this about how the show itself does a good job of tying into to the lore of mandalore that we were left off with from both clone wars and rebels and the greater star wars universe itself
