Unions are why we have the few worker protections rights we do have. Unions are also why police can murder citizens and keep their job.
So, like almost all things, there is good and bad. Though I'd say unions are a net positive and will probably see a resurgence over the next 10-20 years. --- If you do things right, people won't be sure that you have done anything at all. I don't necessarily have a problem with the concept of a union. But they've been historically riddled with corruption and run by parasites.

Like everything there are pros and cons. Ive never been in a union but a few I hear are having to pay them regularly, protecting shitty employees, and priotizing seniority over ability.

Positive. Unions and similar organizations are why he have an eight hour work days and the fact that an increasingly shitty work culture in America coincides with decreasing union influence isn't a coincidence.
