Its release galvanized fans of the theatrical version and, in 2026, after a protracted fan campaign, WB released Justice League: The WheBoot, a 5 and a half hour remake of Justice League with Joss Whedon at the helm.

As industry analysts predicted, it was just as ill-received as previous versions.

But this was not the end of the story. In 2028, in an attempt to salvage the reputation of the brand, Justice League: Crisis of Multiple Cuts was distributed on HBO as a 35-episode television series, splicing together scenes from all three previous versions of the movie, along with 2 and a half minutes of new footage.
