It's kinda rare but it shows up enough that I think it counts as a "trope", and it bugs me whenever it pops up.

"Yeah, sure, time was re-written and now (person/people) don't exist anymore, or don't remember you, or are completely different people now, BUT, the fact that it happened at all is what matters! Those memories means that those relationships were real!"

like...no. I can't vibe with this at all lol. I'm thinking specifically of (video game spoiler) Life is Strange with this, where the re-written timeline would have meant a certain character died alone and miserable, but it also popped up in (manga spoilers) JoJos Bizarre Adventure, though was slightly less egregious there due to how time travel worked in that one.

idk tho maybe I'm weird

I mean they were real, but it's ultra depressing because they will never be real in the new reality so it only serves to make you sad.

Wake up. You have to wake up. *currently a preta/hungry ghost*
Dai Grepher: I was wrong. My entire theory is incorrect. Zero Mission IS a remake of Metroid.

I won't forget you TC. I mean the plot demands everyone's memories be rewritten and there's no basis for me saying this but I'll def always remember the bond we've made these past 30 minutes!

I just want to restore this world back to the natural. Bring order to this broken reality. To the way it should have been, all those many years ago.

I haven't played LiS, but I'm rarely 100% satisfied with time travel plots. There's always something that doesn't make sense IMO.

The Original Eliza. In her early 30's. Exceedingly supple.
