I've seen it pop up in a couple of media as a hip catch-phrase or random gratuitous foreign word.

Like it's such a goofy, old fashioned term that nobody actually uses unironically unless they're talking about their 4 year old nephew or whatever. But then you've got stuff like "Buddyfight" that's trying its hardest to look cool, and it sort of does until you remember the name of the franchise is "Buddyfight" >_>
