Like, the changes were all stupid imo, but whatever I could have let that slide. but the writing was soooooooo fucking bad. One of the worst Ive seen in a long time. We died at this scene and still joke about how bad it is: General: youre excommunicated/exiled Mulan: is rather be executed! General: no, youre excommunicated/exiled, but if you show your face again well execute you! Mulan: okay, guess Ill just leave then. like, not even joking thats how it goes. We both joked she should have started walking away then turned and been like boo! It wasn't great, but I think the majority of people who got annoyed at all the changes did so because they didn't know that's what Disney wanted to do. They were trying for more of a classical chinese movie with all the crazy jumps and shit. They wanted mushu and singing when that was never part of the plan. They stepped away from the "shot-for-shot remake" approach and tried something new. Makeveli_lives 12/11/20 4:35:04 PM #13:	I gave it a chance. Didn't like it. And not because of the changes, but because of the flat acting and obviousness that the lead actress can't fight. Like she'd throw a kick, the camera would change angles to the kick landing, then change again to her landing from the kick. With all the wire fighting it can't all be real obviously, but I don't think she did a single legit action or fighting stunt at all in the entire movie in one take.
