Popular votes are our vote. Electorial votes are how many points you get for each state. So like Trump wins NC i think he gets 15 points from the electoral college towards the 270 he needs to win.
So even if more people vote for one candidate and they get the popular vote it doesn't matter if they didn't win any big ticket states and get more electoral votes. My understanding of it anyway. And biden is only winning in the sense that he is ahead in electoral votes. If they call all of the states that are favored for trump for trump he will have at least enough to win the electoral college. --- Its hard being a mom! ... Copied to Clipboard!

In the countrys history, its actually pretty rare for there to be a discrepancy between the popular and electoral vote for the winner. Before 2000, there had been about a century since it last happened.
