Its almost impossible to just go, sit down, listen to a sermon, and then leave, lol.

Everyone wants to be friendly and talk to you and get you engaged with that community. And God help you if youre new to a church or looking for a good one. A newbie walking into a church is like blood in shark-infested waters.

Oh, and stand and greet your neighbor lol. It doesnt matter what you do, nobody reads body language. Or they just dont care. Ill put my head down and pretend to have talked asleep. Ill look at my phone. Ill straight up ignore people. But theyre relentless. I dont want to look at people or say hi or shake their hand. >_>

The church I used to go to in the US used to be pretty good for this, because there was a cafe area where you could view a live recording of the sermon inside the sanctuary. And it used
to be pretty laid back. But then over the years it got popular and social and impossible to find a seat. And with all those people come the inevitable social types who come sit down with you and start talking to you for no reason.

id had hoped that being in Korea would had mitigated this somewhat but its actually much worse. Korean churches are already more socially-inclined than traditional American churches, and Im one of like, three white people so I get even more attention from people. >_>

why is this post this long lol. I just needed to vent. It hasnt been that bad recently because with Corona and some other family things we havent been able to go to church for a while. But when things settle down and we start regularly attending again...

tl;dr: I hate talking to people >_>

Churches are also highly cliquey. When I was in highschool I used to go to church with a friend's family and they were getting involved with different parts of the church. I got a view of the behind the scenes stuff and it's just a bunch of back stabbing and talking about people including the preacher behind their back.

oh gosh thanks for reminding me. >_>

yeah one of the reasons I dialed back going to church was because as I got pulled deeper into it, I got exposed to so much drama. I dont want any of that in my life lol.

you can just follow the red text of what Jesus said.. IMO men have let gossip bloom in the Church.

Is that a light at the end of the dark tunnel or is it just another train coming? Anyway no seat for me.

Dont go to church then? Surely God will accept your prayers regardless of whether youre in church or not

My mind is an open book, do you find it entertaining? At least be original in your responses then.
