Im hoping everything goes well for him. I suppose the odds are stacked against him, however. Hes 22 and has never had a job before. His family isnt wealthy, either. He loves Pokemon Go, Star Wars, Marvel, Sports, and Smash Bros. In fact, thats all he really talks about. He has a Liberal Arts degree. No car and we dont live in a city, either.

Hes very awkward around girls. In all my years of knowing him, Ive only seen him converse with a girl one time. It was hard to watch. The rest of our group gets on him for being so nervous whenever a girl is around constantly. Even people who dont know him well pick up on it fast.

Hes fairly tall and muscular, however. Nice guy, too. The date was supposed to be today but she cancelled and rescheduled for Tuesday. This date was set up by a mutual friend. He doesnt have any way to contact her. Theyve never even met before.

He totally has this, right CE? Ive been shown a photo of her and shes cute. Ive known him for a very long time so itd be nice if he got a girlfriend. Nearly everyone in our group aside from me mocks him for being inexperienced with girls.

Good for him, TBQH. Nothing like your first first date...so to speak.

But yeah, it will probably go badly. Having said THAT, it'll give him some proper experience with girls. Is his part of the world not on lockdown, then?

Cases in our area have spiked dramatically. Were required to wear masks everywhere now but most people my age dont really care and are treating life like normal. Im not sure what the date is planned for. It might be just a dinner or something. All restaurants are open for in person dining around here. Just limited capacity.

What a shitty group of friends. Ridiculing instead of helping is pretty much the sole province of the cock.

Yeah, realistically, if that much of a mess when he talks to girls, it's not going to go well. I've been in the same boat of having only video games and watching TV as the only things going on in my life, and dates usually don't go well when the person has no other real goals. It's also his first date, and he'll get more comfortable with practice ande experience.

But it's also kind of messed up that his group is mocking him for it. They could, you know, actually give him advice and help him out?

Yeah, I try my best to come to his defense but Im not always around. Some of them base their entire self worth around how many women theyve been with and think it applies to all men. It makes sense that whenever theyre single or not interacting with girls, they become depressed. I tolerate most of them just to hang out with the select few I like.

If I talk to him again before the date, Ill probably just tell him to be himself. She might dig his awkwardness and not mind some of the other details.

Yeah just be yourself is always key otherwise faking it can only last so long. She might be into him or not. Some women just want a nice guy regardless if they are nerdy or awkward.
