Prior to this every single coin or bill in my collection was either a gift or something I had found. I have paid more than face value exactly zero times before this.

In the Coronademic, many things have been weird, including the price of silver. Before all of this silver was riding fairly high at around 17-18, almost 19 dollars. Thats around the peak since 2016.

But when the pandemic got more and more widespread shit went crazy. Between March 11th and March 18th the price fell from 16.88 to 11.90 an ounce. I've never seen a dog that low.

This was an interesting time to monitor the silver markets because I've never seen a swing that wild, though I have been doing this for only a short while. I wanted to buy, but just about everything was sold out when I realized the prices because of people stockpiling before the websites realized just what was going on. Then, once they caught on, the premiums were way higher than usual, so while if you found something to buy, you got a deal, but not a legendary deal worth writing home about.

I had resigned to not buying anything, and then I stumbled across a deal selling four ounces of random silver pieces in a starter package for 55.70 at the time of my purchase, making that roughly $14 an ounce, which isn't a dog at 11.90, but the best price I have ever bought at.

Two of those coins were a 2015 Canadian Maple Leaf($5 cad face value, 1ozt .9999 silver) and a 2019 American Silver Eagle($1 face value, 1ozt .999). These are the first two coins I have ever bought, from anybody, anywhere.

Just to hammer home how good of a deal this is, while I do not intend to sell these coins anytime soon:

Spot is $15.12, and reputable bullion websites will buy the SIlver Eagle for 18.12 and the Maple for 17.12, an immediate turnaround.
