I never thought I would buy an American made AK but here it is. From what I can see and from the research I've done it looks like it's an exact copy of the Izhmash Saiga 9/Vityaz submachine gun. Of course, it doesn't have the third axis pin like those guns do. Other than that, it's crazy how accurate to the original specs this thing is. I think KUSA got the technical data for the Saiga 9 from Izhmash/Kalashnikov Concern before the Obama era sanctions hit. Some of the earlier manufactured guns had some issues but mine seems to be fine so far. A handful of guys I know bought around the same time I did and a couple of them had minor (cosmetic) to serious (missing the pins in the front sight base) problems.
I put a cheap red dot on it and I can easily hit a 12"x12" steel plate at 100 yards. It's doable with iron sights but a little trickier. It's no where near as accurate as my MP5 with iron sights. https://i.imgur.com/cfUpBVAh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/odnR9mbh.jpg With the MP5: https://i.imgur.com/gK2QeF8h.jpg They even did an awesome job on getting the mags copied as well, right down to the metal reinforcements inside of them. Here is a Russian mag on the left and a KUSA mag on the right: https://i.imgur.com/gK2QeF8h.jpg Another cool thing with the mags is that they can use the 5.45x39 stripper clips and guides even though this gun is 9x19mm. 5.45: https://i.imgur.com/P8w9gfih.jpg 9mm: https://i.imgur.com/h6IlqQHh.jpg Overall I'm super happy with this, I thought it was going to be vaporware and completely fail to even reach production. I will say that it's not as nice or bad ass as the MP5, it's probably about equal in enjoyment and accuracy as a CZ EVO Scorpion (which I wouldn't mind having after shooting a friend's). --- Freya weeps upon her golden throne. https://imgur.com/aXjQJkUh ...
