I've had my disagreements with the mods, but this was the right call. Those topics were pure Mean Girls style shit fests. Especially since many of the people being 'discussed' were excluded by blocking them out.

Are you suggesting the admin is cool with you guys abusing the block list to troll other users? That's totally not how things work around here. There were posts literally on the first page of that thread debating over whether to boot someone out of the clique and block them from the thread.

Those topics weren't just a database of who got modded. They were full of antagonistic behavior toward people the creators hoped to see banned.Any perception of impartiality was false. It was just a topic for a select group of users to gather together and shit talk other users, while blocking those users from seeing or entering the topic at all.

lmao what posts? You mean the posts where Goats said he had already blocked Conflict prior to that topic existing for reasons that had nothing to do with the existence of the topic itself? Something which was in fact previously confirmed by Conflict himself in the previous topic (made by JMO) where he asked that someone other than Goats make it because Goats had him blocked? A couple posts saying "omg don't do that" isn't a fucking debate lol.

I didn't realize realize becoming a Mod required giving up that much reading comprehension.

Whatever you say, I'm not involved in that drama. The point is, it's purely toxic to create a topic, bar users from seeing said topic, then use that topic to endlessly gossip and belittle said users. It's malicious abuse of the block feature.

The block function is there so users can completely detach themselves from users they dislike. It somehow became a tool of abuse because certain individuals were using it in a malicious way. Just because it can be done, doesn't mean it should be done.

Admins should have never implemented the block feature. It is way too easy to abuse and ignore is generally good enough for legitimate harassment cases. The thing is just poorly thought out of. No idea why the admins thought it was such a great idea given that they have been saying for years they had no plans to implement it.

Most of the cases I see it being used simply because a user disagrees with another user, so it doesn't really work in reducing harassment.

User A makes topic.
User A has User B blocked.
User B makes topic similar.
User A uses alts go to User B's topic and tell them to use User A's topic knowing full well that they have User B blocked on their main.

That is abuse of the block feature and using it to troll.
That was happening, and I modded people for it myself.

It doesn't matter who they did it to, it's against the rules.

Which topic is the warned general? You're claiming Goats did that because between JMO, Goats, and Machete only goats had the hosting duty enough to do that.

Goats has also done stuff like make a topic with his main which has a user blocked and in the second post using an alt to @ said blocked user knowing that the poster mentioned cannot post in the topic.
