"There's been a lot of chatter, myself included, about our timeline," DiDio said in Facebook Q&A with retailers. "The purpose is to bring in a baseline of storytelling that brings a level of consistency and more uniformity in the interpretations of the characters. We are looking to build a series of books that will re-tell the history of the DC Universe. In some ways, that will become our bible for the DC Universe."

This will probably last five years before they change it again. But it's nice to see DC's best girl get some love from the higher ups. >_>

Technically the character's in-comic chronology means she's existed for over a couple thousand years. While that seems like a long time, I would not be surprised if other characters who fit the "superhero" archtype have been cited to have existed even before that...

You and I both know, however, that comic universe chronology is constantly edited for the market and this would hardly be a milestone anyway.

I don't really follow the comics anymore, so I'm not sure what this means. Isn't she from the time of Aries?

Even in the movies, she's the first like Cap is in the MCU.

DC is really weird about needing to constantly tweak not just its heroes origin stories, but the timeline continuity of its entire universe.

what this basically means is that Wonder Woman will, in universe, be the first super-powered person to dress in a costume and go around fighting crime.

Granted, when they did this way back in the New 52, they said Superman was the first public superhero, but Batman was technically the first and nobody believed he existed.

But the main thing this means is that Greg Ruckas awesome Wonder Woman Year One story from less than five years ago is already retconned, fufufufufu
