Even though you are a troll account I would somewhat agree with you here. Most of them are just spending it on crack and other drugs sadly.

There are places for the homeless. Food banks, Soup Kitchens, Collecting Bottles, Homeless Shelters and even government programs like Food Stamps. They should be making the most out of these rather than begging on the streets.

Yeah, in bigger cities the problem is probably more serious in many cases and resources may not be enough, but locally there are familiar faces at certain corners all the time and Im involved through work with the local organizations here and I know for a fact there are plenty of options for them to have a place to stay and get food and necessities.

I do both...but life is about balance. I wouldnt be very happy working during all my time with 0 social/dating life. The point was I do enough good for the world at my job, I see no point in volunteering my free time

Substance abuse is considered a mental health disorder rn. And the current study is like over 60 percent

I just checked a study from 2015 that had it at 45 percent. I cant find the study I read from earlier this year but its way higher now

I dont hate the homeless. When I got into a major physical fight with a mentally ill one two years ago where I almost had to shoot him. I tried to understand them better afterWe recently created a team that is designated to just handle homeless with resources. No arrests no tickets. They designated a specific call type just for homeless people to track their statistics. Theres cities of people under neath the streets in wash areas. Theyre violent, rape, and drug filled communities. Theyre breeding grounds for disease, needles and what have you.

giving them money is just going to further the cycle of substance and alcohol abuse. You should research the upcoming shelters and organizations in your area and give them the money instead if the homeless is concern of you.

shelters have changed. We provide a state of the art facility that houses in individual rooms that allows their belongings and pets. In house 24/ 7medical and detox facility. System provides mental health help, job help, and stuff like getting IDs.

There are a lot of programs out there doing the right thing. My last homeless contact was yesterday at noon. Guy panhandled 10 bucks, walked to a tunnel, bought meth, smoked it in front of a Chuck E Cheese and passed out there. I walked up on him sleeping in front of it, butane, pipe, and meth literally just out for the world to see.

Its not okay. Making their life easier by giving them money is not the answer

I lol when it happens. The same fucking people are there constantly. They literally work fulltime shifts. Purposely misspelling words to garner sympathy.

The ones who wait at red lights just to walk along the medians piss me off. Theres one guy who strategically waits on the exit of a Chic-fil-a and shakes his cup at EVERY car leaving for money.

What do you think will happen after the effects wear off? They'll be worse off than how they were before taking it.

For those that aren't doing anything to improve their lives, putting them in a cell where they can spend some time reflecting on their current state is more of an improvement than inducing a chain of addiction and withdrawal.

I don't. But I'd give 5 bucks to a homeless guy before I wasted it on a lotto ticket any day

I never give homeless money.

I have given them free food cards before but I have a problem with giving money to strangers.

I also have worked in a city most of my life and I know the tricks some of these people play. Not saying they all play games but I'll let the tourists fall for that shit.
