Bought this game on release day but never got around to actually finishing it until tonight. I thought it was a solid 8/10 game.

When the combat works, it's very satisfying especially switching between legions mid fight and using all the options available to the player. Unfortunately, it did take a few hours for the game to open up and get to this point of fun. I remember the first file or two not being anything special. Camera can get in the way sometimes which is unfortunate but it can be fine tuned in the sequel. I like the cyberpunk setting and style the game has going for it immensely. Feels very reminiscent Ghost in the Shell which I love. The music is pretty good. Dark Hero Female version is amazing.

Didn't like the story at all. Thought it started off with potential but it felt like it ripped off of popular Japanese anime such as NGE though I suppose you could argue it's an inspiration. Didn't like the detective segments, either. I actually do not mind the idea of detective segments at all. It just was not interesting in this game. Neither were most of the side missions. I think those elements should be worked on in a potential sequel. The minigames can stay gone forever. File 08 was awful because of those minigames.

Anyways, fun game. That's all I got.

It is indeed a pretty good game. After the story there's a huge post-game that's nothing but combat also, if you're into that.

It gets hard as balls too in the latter half of the post-game missions. (around 70 of them in total)

And I thought the final boss was hard the first time. Eager to try out these challenges.
