Do you have a disease where you need to take meds/shots to control it?

20 y/o Logan Lewis from Ohio had Died after after suffering an allergic reaction when he drank something that had MILK in it and he didn't know..and he was found holding his EPIPEN in his hand as emergency responders said he didn't make it on time to inject himself after the reaction and they quickly transported himto Ohio Health O'Bleness Hospital where he later died.

Jamie Baker, his mother in Georgia said she believes her son died because of a severe milk allergy and said "He was my world, and my world is completely shattered without him"

She said when Logan was an infant, she fed him milk based formula and suffered a reaction to it and after doctors ran several tests, they pinpointed it to milk.

Most people think lactose intolerance is what he did but that's when someone doesn't have enough of an enzyme called lactase that is needed to break down sugar found in dary but those with an allergy can't tolerate it atall.

Lewis was a second year student at Hocking College where he studied medical cannabis in their lab sciences program.

He was at the lab with friends before leaving to say he wasn't feeling well and that's when he went into anaphylactic shock.

When an allergin enters the body, the immune system releases chemicals that flood the body, blood pressure drops and airways narrow. only an epipen can reverse this condition and Logan appeared to have gotten ahold of the pen but didn't inject himself on time before collapsing to the floor and was found by his dorm mate

His devastated mother said the allergy had taken over and he couldn't administer his shot and EMT's were too late once they arrived.

The family is hoping his death reminds people of the importance of educating themselves on allergies and to watch what they eat if they are allergic to it and to always wear an ID bracelet and carry an EpiPen no matter what.

A Gofundme page was started and has raised more than 2500 out of its 5000 goal

Nope, no allergies to anything.

Semi-relevant, I remember hearing something about an experimental therapy designed to cure food allergies.
The report had something about a young child deathly allergic to nuts, and in a controlled environment where any emergencies could be handled to maximum effect and without delay, they gave him the slightest exposure to nuts, and over numerous visits in the course of weeks (or was it months?), slowly increased his exposure.

The idea was to teach his immune system that nuts aren't a danger to be guarded against, and by the end of the therapy, he could eat nuts without any allergic reaction.

Something like that may have been able to save Logan, and may be able to save those like him in the future.
