In NY, mine came in exactly a week. When my wife did hers a few months prior, it took almost 2 weeks. I'd say it's dependent on your state and how many people are renewing as well

I think to get the temporary, you have to go up there in person... If they send it in the mail, youd probably get it around the same time as you real one. Maybe a day or two earlier...
