she admitted it yesterday, after keeping it a secret for years. one time her boyfriend tore her iris of her eye and she says it's had a permanent effect on her vision. she used to lie all the time and make up jokes about being clumsy to explain her injuries

she refuses to name him. but some people have followed the clues and think it's a dude he appeared in 2 episodes of season 1 of supergirl and then suddenly was written out. he was setting up to date her on the show but then the story changed. probably cause Melissa asked them to take him off the show

In this case, it actually did happen, but I don't think he was intended to be part of a larger storyline. Looking at the summary of his appearance, I think it's more likely he was a plot device to show Kara choosing Supergirl over a more normal life. He's set up as a love interest, but she breaks it off by saying she doesn't have room in her life for a relationship at the moment. This was also in season one where Kara/Jimmy Olsen was the terrible endgame, so I really doubt they were planning to set up an entirely different relationship arc.

Funnily enough, Melissa Benoist later met her future husband, Chris Wood, on set. His character has been her biggest love interest so far.

Yeah I think they've completely abandoned any romantic plots for her since Mon-El left, not sure if it's because the fans would riot if she got with someone else, she doesn't want to do it or the writers want to focus more on other stuff

The relationship quota is kind of fulfilled with Alex. From the perspective of CW, that also has the added benefit of being a lesbian relationship which fulfills their progressive shtick.

A romance plotline is kind of in an awkward spot. All the current characters are already claimed, so they'd have to introduce a new character. Assuming they don't want the romance to just end at the end of the season, that's a permanent addition to the cast they'd have to make.

Now that I think about it, her friendship with Lena sort of has all the hallmarks of a typical romance in these shows. One of the reasons people ship the two of them so hard, I guess.

Is Alex in a relationship again? I'm still working my way through last season, actually my favorite of the Arrowverse shows last season so far. Legends was alright but kinda silly, Flash was eh and Arrow was so boring.

And I haven't even gotten to Lex Luthor yet.

How are the shows this season so far? I finally finished last season of Flash and Arrow this past month but haven't started the current ones yet

Arrow is better than it's been in a few years, but I'd say it's still the worst of the three.

Flash is pretty good. Definitely better than last year, partially helped by its villain not being utter garbage.

Supergirl, so far, hasn't impressed me as much, but there's definitely potential.

Well that's good to hear about Flash at least. I'll probably catch up on all of them before Crisis starts at least, hopefully. Except Black Lightning might not make it in time but I think that one is basically going to be irrelevant other than Black Lightning himself existing?

Don't get me wrong, they're all pretty good this year. It's just that Arrow is the worst in relation to the other two and Supergirl isn't as good as last year so far.

Black Lightning probably isn't going to be important. The storyline for this season actually makes me wonder how they're going to fit things together.

Tons of shit that didn't apply to her. In any case I don't get the point of saying "it's impossible, it's way too hard" when she clearly was able to leave the relationship just fine.

It's not trivial to leave but if somebody is abusing you, you owe it to yourself to get the fuck out. I think it's more destructive to come up with a bunch of excuses for people in abusive relationships to stay.

That's because you aren't giving these people credit. You tell a person they are a helpless victim long enough they are going to believe it. You should be on my side because I want to tell people they have the power to leave shitty situations.

You are almost justifying them not leaving, like them staying in a relationship where they are abused is fair or right in some way.

IMO that's messed up.

If you are being abused in a relationship you should leave, I don't care if it's hard, lots of shit is hard. Lots of shit way less important than not being physically abused is harder than that.

It's like I'm saying "drug addicts should find whatever resources they can and stop doing drugs" and you are saying "but it's really hard".

It being "hard" doesn't contradict my point at all.
