A lot more forgiving but yeah pretty much Dark Souls with waifus.

Code Vein has some DNA in common with Dark Souls as far as combat goes, but still feels more like an Action JRPG. It's got a fairly linear beads-on-string structure as opposed to the more freeform exploration generally found in Souls games. It's got loads of cut scenes. If you're someone that appreciates Souls games for taking a mostly hands off approach to the story with almost zero non-interactive sequences, Code Vein isn't that.
So when you put all that together, it's not really fair to compare it to Dark Souls. It's obviously influenced by Dark Souls in its mechanics, but it's got a lot going on that's pretty far removed as well. It does have waifus. --- This album is not available to the public. It has the DNA of Dark Souls and shares a lot of things, but its very fast paced and doesn't really rely on positioning and patience.

Played the beta and wasn't impressed. Might grab it when it's heavily discounted but yeah, like others have pointed out its basically vampire anime Souls w/ waifus
