Don't care.

I'm required to get one now, but I never got one before that.

This, but replace "brother" with literally everyone I know lol. I have a lot of friends that work in health care so it's mandatory for them.

I get the point of other vaccines but the flu shot seems kind of pointless when they don't know what strains will be prevalent in any given year. I think it was either last year or the year before, they were way off. It sort of falls into the realm of "Eh, better than nothing I guess" but I won't go out of my way to get one.

I judge them heavily because most of them think they know what the flu is when they don't. A flu knocks you on your ass for days, if not weeks. A little stomach bug is not what the virus is stopping.

Dumb if you have insurance and dont get it. Literally $0 with even the shittiest insurance and the mild cold symptoms you might get for a couple days afterwards are vastly better than being out for weeks with much worse flu symptoms. Not to mention that it isnt just about you and is also about protecting other people especially infants/children and elderly people who are more likely to have major complications from the flu.

I don't. Shots just make me sick. In fact, they're the only thing that has made me sick in probably 15 years.

Just to be clear its literally impossible to get the flu from the flu shot. Theres no live virus in the vaccine. It takes about 2 weeks after getting the vaccine for your immune system to build up antibodies to the virus, so most likely you just were infected within that time frame especially if you waited after September to get it.

I never get it, only because so often they run out or have limited supply. I rather leave it for the elderly and children.

If a flu typically has you laid up for weeks, you really should get the shot.

i had the sore throat for 2 days, then the cough/stuffy nose/fatigue plus couldn't breathe
some of the symptoms stood for 2 weeks. others stayed for a whole month

it could've been the flu or a walking pneumonia.

Night sweats are the worst part after the main symptoms go. They just seem to hang around for a week or 2 and drench the bed lol.

I'll bite, the shot comes in preloaded syringe, I literally saw the woman open it right before she gave it to me. Also, a monkey could administer an intramuscular shot, it's not heart surgery.

Im not getting the flu shot. Both of my parents have worked in hospitals and have heard enough stories from the nurses who are required to get it, that neither of them would ever get it or recommend it. Two nurses at the local hospital were even permanently paralyzed as a result, which is a rare side effect but ... two at the same relatively small hospital? Thats bad, and the general public doesnt know because the people involved didnt go to the news. Between that horrible possibility and what seems to be the majority of immunized people falling ill for a while after the injection, Im staying away. I realize the flu could be deadly if I catch it, but Im at a low risk for it so Im comfortable with my choice.
