Yeah I accidentally semi-spoiled it for myself - still don't know the end but at least saw it received a pretty mixed reception.

Kind of curious how they made sequels out of it, too >_> Again, guess I'm thinking in really narrow terms here.

I want to watch the next two movies but it's only on Shudder I guess fml. Why can't I just rent it :(

How's it end?

So it starts with a woman interviewing another woman who was a survivor of the night. The survivor lady hands over a bag of video tapes and footage because one of the business members was tasked with recording their progress.

At the end, the survivor lady tells them all about what happened from the night and she says she was rescued by the cops. The footage that they play up to that part shows her go to the attic with one of the other crew members - you see him get captured/killed and hear the lady screaming.

Then she mentions that the journalist woman and her crew should go check out the haunted place, and that they can find her in room 2C when they get back.

They are leaving the hotel and ask something about 2C and the clerk says there is no 2C. They go to the haunted place anyway.

In the meantime one of the journalist's crew stays back and reviews the final footage. He discovers that the survivor woman actually got killed by one of the missing crew members that night.

The journalist woman and her cameraman are at the haunted place though and they're hearing things as they walk through. Actually it's kind of cool, when they stop at a room you get a flashback to when the Hell House people were setting it up or having fun at that room. They wind up going to a hallway where they see Room 2C... Despite the cameraman's objections, the journalist opens the door and sees the survivor lady sitting on the bed. They enter the room, she turns around with her face all bloody and beat up. They try to escape, she stands up and now there are two cult members in robes that attack them.

I might wind up doing that. And even then it's only $5 compared to the $12-$15 for other "channels" on Amazon.

wtf the second one is off to a dumb start. Has a home video from 1997 and this kid is playing the piano tune from the first movie and talks about the hotel opening in 2009. Like come on.

It's a really good movie. Last one to havr a creep factor for me. Stay away from the sequel though. It's trash. I didn't realize the 3rd movie release already.

The house the movie is filmed in is a real haunted house attraction too.

The third one was actually really good. The ending was a nice surprise but kind of cheap.
