Im siding with psycho bitch now, Sora

But fucking why though?

I cant even remember his reasoning, just that it was dumb and there was no realistic reason why anyone would have made the choices he did. Awful character. >_>

I tried playing through the first game and lost my drive to do so two worlds in because Sora is an idiot and the writing feels like actual shitty fanfiction and from what I've watched/read into, it gets much worse in terms of actual plot.

Also I've been told Kairi is much worse and essentially a dead weight or is otherwise a McGuffin and nothing else of worth.

I got no clue how to adult but I sure as hell can figure out what x is in 7x = 4 + 27 X 8.

Because he was corrupted by his new powers of darkness. As an impressionable 15 year old who was just given magic powers, it's no surprise that that would change him. Even at the very beginning of the game he had accepted the darkness and wanted Sora to come with him, but at the end of the day, they were two opposing ideologies.

I love how internet armchair critics think that they can write better than wildly successful writers lol

This definitely isn't the series for people who sweat the details. Especially when it comes to motives. I mean, the idea that everyone is stupid/fickle af is one of the dadgum running themes. Not to mention it's a story about people darknessing too hard and turning into shadow monsters as a result.

I mean, later games do take themselves way more seriously but come on I mean, there's no way you can play a game where Donald Duck and Goofy are major characters be surprised when it's silly.

Kingdom Hearts 2

Xemnas: Sora, are you certain you can trust Riku? Riku, are you sure you're not jealous of Sora?

Riku will always have darkness in his heart. Badguys will try to exploit that and turn friends against each other.

Actually, it makes a lot of sense when you know what kind of person Riku is. When they lived on Destiny Island, he and Sora would compete all the time, typically by either sparring or racing (sparring with toy swords was a brilliant use of foreshadowing). And as you know, he challenges Sora to a race and says the winner gets to share the Paopu Fruit with Kairi. Even though he was "joking," that establishes that (at least in that moment) he sees Kairi as a prize to be won by defeating his other friend. It establishes Riku as a highly competitive and jealous person.

So when he sees Sora with Donald and Goofy, he assumes Sora dumped him and Kairi for them even though he's been looking for them the entire time. He can't fathom that Sora cares about his old friends if he's making new ones, because he views everything, including who gets to be friends with whom, as a competition.

It's stupid, but the game establishes this about Riku very early on. It drops subtle hints about his character and follows through with more explicit revelations later on.

And in this way we can see a contrast between Sora and Riku as representing collectivist and cooperative vs. competitive and market-centered ideologies, respectively.

TL;DR: Kingdom Hearts is anti-capitalist propaganda?

I bought KH3 at launch and still haven't even made it past the Tangled world.

The story even that early on in the game is such a fucking mess and the voice acting and dialogue is laughably terrible.

I hope to finish it one day though

Except you're wrong. See? I can make claims that don't mean anything without providing reasons too. Pigs can fly! Ants are skyscraper size! Wow you can just say anything you want and it's true, thanks for telling me! I gave my opinion, and reasons for it and no one including you has a rebuttal, so obviously that stance is correct in this case. I didn't just say something and give no reasons.

LOL yes, facts. KH is rated E10+ why are people scrutinizing the story this hard? Also, why do people think that characters in media have to behave intelligently/do the right thing all the time? Characters, as well as people have flaws.
