my mom got me some while she was in canada lately lol

been having trouble sleeping lately and have periodically taken this valerian root tablets which help but are kinda patchy at times.

heard people say melatonin can make you kinda wacky tho so idk

For me, melatonin didn't make falling asleep easier but it made getting up feel more refreshing and easier to do.

I don't know how it would make you wacky. it's not a weird chemical. it's literally just a natural thing our bodies already make. this just adds some extra for those who need it to sleep.

Melatonin works wonders for some. If you have trouble sleeping you could give it a shot.

Personally it helps me fall asleep but I have a bit more trouble getting up in the morning. Everyone is a bit different and it wont hurt to try it for a night.

don't go over 1mg of melatonin. Your brain only produces 1mg of melatonin to help you sleep. Any more and it doesn't really help you go to sleep.

literally over the counter at every drug store, grocery store, airport, and some gas stations.

I would start with the smallest dose, maybe 3mg tablets but break them in 1/4th. Personally, I nibble off a bit of the 3mg tablet, so I may actually be taking like 0.1 to 0.3 mg doses. I take it about 45min before I go to bed and I get deep refreshing sleep through the night and wake up feeling great 8 hours later. Not every day of course but just on those days where I don't feel sleepy or I drank too much caffeine or something like that.

Melatonin isn't a sleeping aid. it's not going to make you fall asleep simply by taking. if you take it regularly at the same time every night it helps your body adjust your circadian rhythms so it'll eventually want to fall asleep then naturally. It takes time for it to really change things.
