Were walking down the street in Incheon when some woman came up and started talking to her. Next thing my wife starts saying (in English) I dont understand. Korean American

I was confused but apparently she was a cult member lol.

It was a risky gambit, but it worked. When I get back to the US Im gonna steal it and pretend Im like, Eastern European lol >_>

Wouldn't telling them to fuck off also work?

Apparently its not the Moonys. This was The World Mission Society. Has something to do with the idea of God the Mother.

Come to think of it I was approached by some dudes in the US a few years ago trying to sell me on it. In a Barnes and Noble of all places. Said Jesus was reincarnated as a South Korean woman lol

I did this in Vegas to avoid street peddlers. Responding in confused German or polish worked wonders.

Are all his Apostles also gender-swapped, and in the group? Because, I would watch that.

How else is Jesus gonna lead a K-pop group? Can't be just by herself.

It's not just gullible people necessarily. It's more desperate people. There is a ton of pressure for all sides in Korean culture. Society, family, work, relationship, peer pressure. And the need to be apart of a group.

So a group comes, tells you they will support you, help you in life. And love you. It's something that sounds too good to be true for a lot of people.

I wouldn't separate that from gullible, though.

@tc: These Korean cults are alive even in America. It's really fucking weird, cause you almost never see them, but when you do, it is extremely obvious.

There was a man in his 40s wearing very specifically expensive brands of clothes, walking in a very particular way, with one hand on his hip and the other arm overemphasizing the swinging motion. He and the two women on either side of him had a very practiced and unflinching smile. The women weren't twins, but goddamn if they didn't try to look like twins. Same makeup, same hairstyle, almost the same height, same traditional priestess-looking garbs, right down to the letter. They had their own particular and practiced walk, the exact same space away from the man, holding what looked like a couple of phonebook-sized bibles.

I was halfway tempted to tail them, but the bakery had just opened and it was real hot out.
