Despite living in Texas, I have NEVER seen a scorpion before

I dunno

I was at my girl's house on Saturday and one showed up out of nowhere

I guess I have to admit, I was scared, they look like Satan. Jesus

but yea, I stomped it to death without hesitation because she was scared of it even more

I even remarked how i've never seen one to her and she was stunned. I said they've simply never showed up at my house

then yea, later that night, when I went into the laundry room, I got stung when i put my hand on the door >_>

I GUESS its been awhile since I had bad luck but god damn

I tried sleeping it off but my finger started swelling and gradually my hand, then forearm, then my bicep and shoulder started becoming sore. Yea, not normal

they gave me medicine at the hospital but I had to spend a few hours there and I missed work

NOT looking forward to the bill

not much of a story but yea, I was just trying trying to find out, are there any of yall that haven't seen a scorpion before? I guess it IS weirder considering where I'm at but still

a bunch of friends were giving me home remedies and tips. One even said you're supposed to drink just milk. I think I straight had an allergic reaction to this thing, I don't think they had that in mind lol

In all seriousness, you could of just lit it on fire or smashed it with something heavy.

I've never seen one. Lived in Massachusetts my whole life. But my dad grew up in Texas and said that they had to check their shoes for scorpions whenever they came in the house.

I recall reading scorpions have like an exoskeleton or something

so I always assumed on top of the pincers and poisonous stinger, it was hard to kill too. Yea, in my head they're the devil

I guess I let my head exaggerate some of it's qualities since I've never seen it before

I know spiders can be dangerous, though not all of them, but I always thought ALL Scorpions were semi indestructible harborers of death

Saw them regularly in Arizona. Kept our shoes hanging on a rack and still always checked them.

Some of them are aggressive little fuckers.

Moved to Nevada a few months ago, but haven't seen one yet

Granted we get spray put down for those and other things so they probably aren't making it in the house

I found one in my garage when I lived in New Mexico.

Captured him and walked to the edge of the desert like 3 blocks away, flung him into some brush.

A friend of mine was watching a show in the dark one time, got up to get a drink and heard a light thud in the dark, like somebody threw something on his bed.

Turned on the light, and fucking scorpion had fallen from the ceiling into his bed!

Thats when I learned those monsters can straight up climb upside-down. Absolutely horrifying.

i have a memory of finding a live scorpion and playing with it in my backyard as a kid

but everyone says we don't have them in southern alberta, and I've never seen one as a teenager/adult. is common knowledge around here wrong, or my childhood memory?

I saw a very small scorpion-like critter in my living room a few weeks ago. I tried to smash it but it wasn't standing on a stable surface so I just ended up knocking it to the floor and it got away.
