People don't start really clocking in until the primaries.

That said, persistent poll and media domination early on got Trump into the White House, so who knows anymore.

Doesn't matter. A fraction of progressives (largely the young people and left independents who don't normally vote to begin with) will see a nominee more conservative than Clinton (who they either already didn't vote for or regret voting for) and stay right at home. Biden will have to make the numbers up with moderates.

I don't see how so many people can't wrap their heads around the fact that not everyone participates in lesser evil voting.

Biden's politics aren't the reason why he's a good match against Trump.

Biden being a less politically correct candidate than his contemporaries while still being able to maintain composure is his biggest strength.

He's just about the only candidate the Democrats have who can play Trump's game.

No one leading up to that election thought Sanders even had a shot, he was a fringe candidate who was there to pull Clinton to the left. And while the DNC did not treat Clinton and Sanders equally, Clinton got more votes, won more states, and got enough delegates to secure the nomination without any help from the superdelegate boogeyman.

The media refusing to focus on the Democratic primary in favor of talking about Trump 24/7 was much more harmful than anything the DNC did.

Bernie and Warren being neck and neck is what I expected. But I think Warren might end up leading due to her specific policies.

I also expected Biden's number to go down. His polling doesn't really have upward motion because the people that support Bernie or Warren would unlikely to change their vote to Biden. They'd want someone progressive and not the same old shit that made people want change when Obama was in office. Biden only polled higher because name recognition.
