The Rules
1. Absolutely positively no costumes. Not even the ones sold at the park. (Reminder that they sell a 6000 dollar stormtrooper outfit). They will allow you to wear a tunic, but you have to get approval ahead of time. 2. You can create droids in the droid depot, but they are not allowed to be used in the park. 3. No toy weapons in the park. No blasters, no thermal detonators, no staffs. You are allowed lightsabers only. 4. (Employee rule) Employees are allowed to make up their own lore and name on the spot, as long as they do not declare themselves related to iconic characters. 5. (until June 23rd) You're only allowed 4 hours in the park before you are escorted out by Stormtroopers. 6. Absolutely Positively NO LIGHTSABER DUELS 7. There is a time limit of 45 minutes at the Cantina. 8. Only two guests per ID are allowed inside the Cantina. Droid Depot and Lightsaber workshop. 9. 2 drink limit at Cantina. 10. You may not leave the Cantina with your drink (you're allowed to leave with drinks at California Adventure for reference) 11. You are only allowed to stay in the lightsaber workshop until the lesson is done. 12. No flash photography 13. No touching things behind fences 14. No Refunds --- The idea here is to reward accepting a moderation ... Copied to Clipboard!

And apparently like the whole lightsaber duel and costume thing is ridiculously enforced. Like you can pose with a lightsaber, but not in a "dueling" pose. Lightsabers can't touch at all.
Like, I get the idea of no dueling is a safety thing, but holy crap you can't even pose or touch tips as if you're dueling? --- The idea here is to reward accepting a moderation ... Copied to Clipboard!

The more I read, the more awful it sounds.
Everything sounds ridiculously overpriced for what it is, but on top of that it sounds like the whole LARP aspect only gets in the way because of the restrictions in place. All of the signs are in a different language to promote you asking for directions. Everything is priced in "credits" (although from what I hear, it's a 1:1 ratio with US dollars but someone is still going to get confused), the employees will act like they don't understand what you're asking if you don't ask it in a Star Wars way. It's the worst of everything. People who are into LARPing are not able to get immersed in it, yet everything is just strict enough that casual park goers are going to get annoyed. ... @leafeon13n do you know anything about this? Most of the rules are to prevent Disney from getting sued and have been standard and enforced at the park for years, including selling shit you can't take out and use. You cant take alcohol out of the cantina because the liquor license only extends there, Disneyland Park has always been dry, if you need alcohol to enjoy Disneyland you probably have a problem. California Adventure has alcohol because the park sucked. The land is fantastic, the CMs are all hugely in character, there is a huge attention to detail and the rollout has been the absolute best crowd management job Disney or likely anyone has done for something like this. The whole Millennium Falcon attraction is immensely satisfying and its capacity and load time are something both coasts sorely needed. 4 hours is enough to do 3 of the 4 major things in the land. There have always been things in Disneyland you are unlikely to do in a full day. They could have let everyone in the land for all day and let chaos reign but their crowd management here made the land fill lively but not overstuffed. Anyone complaining about the limited time has money to spend on both a park ticket or pass$110+, a droid($100), a lightsaber($200), and drinks(I'm going to say $35 minimum here). Anyone that can afford all that fucking shit can afford to come back another day. ... Copied to Clipboard!
