The funny thing is that early Griffins were relatively functional in spite of Peter's antics. They reversed course on that pretty hard, to say the least.

Definitely the Griffins. Randy is insane but he still cares for his family at least. Peter and Meg's relationship is enough to make them the worst family.

If we're looking at the South Park families, the McCormicks, the Cartmans, and the Stotches if we want to count them are definitely all more dysfunctional than the Marshes.

Now if the end of "Ass Burgers" where Stan is shown to keep drinking had stayed more prevalent through the series that might be a different story.
