They screw on just fine but the threaded portion of the valve stem is longer than standard so there is a small portion of the threads exposed. It's enough that its noticeable and looks bad.

I'm hoping that one of you fine folks knows what these are called so that I can search for some nice looking caps to replace the plain plastic ones that are on there right now.

I don't understand what you are asking. You already know that they are called valve stem caps.

Ok, I'll try again. They are clearly not just standard valve stems because standard valve stem caps do not fit properly. There must be another word or phrase associated with these non standard valve stems with the the slightly longer threaded portion. They must have a designation that differentiates them from standard valve stems. It's this designation that I'm looking for so I can find the right caps for them.

Oh I get you now. As far as I know there isn't a specific name for non standard stem caps. You just kind of have to check the description to see what size stems they can fit.

Maybe you would have better luck looking for European stem caps. Or import caps in general.

If all that fails you could always replace the stem itself to a U.S. standard.

Really just look for any cap above 32 tpi as that is the standard.

After much searching last night I found it is due to the tire pressure monitor system. Then after much more searching I have concluded that nobody makes nice after market caps for these stems. I am stuck with the plain black plastic ones that are already on it.

Seems strange though. My chryslet had a tpms and it took standard valve caps. Shoot, even the GM website doesn't sell nice caps that will fit these stems without leaving about 1/4 of an inch of exposed brass.

I suppose I'll give up. :/

The plastic ones posted above were all that I was able to find once I knew to add TPMS into the search. But those are plain and what's already on the car. Thank you though.

But it doesn't do any good unless you do all your own repairs. I've had nice fancy chrome valve caps on several vehicles and every single fucking one has disappeared. I don't know if the mechanics are stealing them, if they're clumsy and lose them, or they just forget to put them back on. But every last one is gone.

Something like that will do. One of the reviews did state that they fit the tpms stems. I'll see if my other caps fit properly with those stem covers. If they do I can find something in chrome that's looks a little nicer but will match the chrome stem covers.

They're cheap enough that they wouldn't be a big deal to replace if necessary. I'll just have to make sure to check after service. Nobody ever stole my sexy caps from the last car.
