Curious how the process goes.

We hired a licensed contractor to renovate our bathroom and do some other work, and when they turned the shower on it caused some water to pour out into the first floor ceiling and ruined the dry wall there. And now my wife is telling me that they cracked the pipe that the toilet mounts on and she doesn't trust them to fix it at this point and she doesn't want them to install a toilet over a broken pipe and then dump shit everywhere >_>.

So I'm just curious how it goes with the homeowners insurance, if I call and explain the situation do they hook us up with a different contractor to inspect and finish the job or what
